- Delhi
Day 01 : Arrive Delhi
Arrival at the Indira Gandhi International Airport or The Railway Station
in Delhi. You will be transfer and check in your hotel in Delhi. Enjoy the
Dances of India Show in the evening. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day 02 : Delhi
Morning half day sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Visit the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Afternoon sightseeing tour of Old Delhi. The sightseeing includes bustling
Bazaars, Red Fort, Jama Masjid and Raj Ghat. Visit the Red Fort in the evening
for a spellbinding sound & light show. Overnight stay at hotel in Delhi.
Day 03 : Delhi - Bagdogra - Darjeeling
Transfer to airport and leave by air for Bagdogra and drive to Darjeeling.
Remainder of the day at rest and acclimatise to the change in altitude. Darjeeling
is dramatic with it's dark hillsides and abundance of flowers. It has a stunning
view of the Kanchanjungha, the third highest peak in the world. Overnight
stay at hotel in Darjeeling.
Day 04 : Darjeeling
Early morning visit to Tiger Hill to view the sunrise over Kanchanjunga Mount
– the second highest mountain in the world along with other great eastern
Himalayan Mountain ranges. In a very clear weather even Mount Everest –
world’s highest peak, is some time visible.
Breakfast in the hotel. Later proceed for the sightseeing tour of the city
visiting Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, one of the premier schools of
mountaineering in the world. Botanical Garden and Tibetan refugee center –
the center produces excellent carpets, woolen goods, wood and leather works
etc. Overnight stay at hotel in Darjeeling.
Day 05 : Darjeeling
After breakfast – visit a tea garden near Darjeeling to watch hundreds
of Nepali women are on their job in tealeaves plucking, which in its self
is and art and technical. Later on visit the tea- processing unit, where the
thrashing, washing, cutting, drying process takes place before blending and
packaging. The entire processing is interesting and engrossing. Later afternoon
return to the hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Darjeeling.
Day 06 : Darjeeling - Gangtok
Breakfast in the hotel. Later drive to Gangtok. On arrival, check in to the
hotel.
Afternoon, Visit Du–drul Chorten, the research Institute of Tibetology
, the most prestigious one of its kind in India . Later visit Orchid sanctuary
where one can see almost 500 varities of Orchids. Overnight stay at hotel
in Gangtok.
Day 07 : Gangtok
Breakfast in the hotel. Morning visit the famous Rumtek Monastery. The head
of Kagyupa of Buddhism was given refugee in Sikkim when Chinese overran Tibet
. He was granted land to built the monastery and finally raised Rumtek in
1960s. It is replica of the monastery in Taruphu in Tibet , the residence
of His Holiness and also headquarters of Dharma Chakra Religious center.
Afternoon, visit Cottage Industries and explore the local bazaar of Gangtok
for souvenirs. Evening – at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Gangtok.
Day 08 : Gangtok - Bagdogra - Calcutta
Breakfast in the hotel. Later - drive down to Bagdogra airport for flight
to Kolkata. Arrive Kolkata. Meet at the airport and transfer to the hotel.
Evening, at leisure. SOvernight stay at hotel in Calcutta.
Day 09 : Calcutta
After breakfast, proceed for the full day sightseeing tour of the city visiting
Victoria Memorial Hall & Museum, Indian Museum, Pareshnath Jain temple,
Writers building, driving past Howrah Bridge, Central business center etc.
Evening at leisure. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 : Calcutta - Bhubaneshwar
Early morning proceed by air for Bhubaneshwar and transfer to hotel. Bhubaneshwar
is a city of temples. There were once over 7000 temples of which only 500
remain today. It is here that in 261 BC, Emperor Ashoka after waging the bloodiest
of wars, converted to Buddhism.
Day 11 : Bhubaneshwar - Puri
After breakfast, leave by surface for Puri. On arrival check in at the hotel.
Afternoon visit Jagannath Temple (standing 65 meters high, built in the 12th
century), the adjoining Ananda Bazaar or food market and the Puri Beach in
the evening. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12 : Puri - Konark - Puri
Full day excursion to Konark, the famous Sun Temple. An architectural splendour,
the temple is known for its exotic sculptures.
Day 13 : Puri - Bhubaneshwar
After an early breakfast, drive to Bhubaneshwar. On arrival check in at the
hotel. Afternoon visit the Chillika Lake - the biggest inland lake in the
country ideal for birdwatching. Overnight at hotel.
Day 14 : Bhubaneshwar - Delhi
After breafast, proceed by air to Delhi. On arrival check in at the hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 15 : Delhi
Early morning transfer from hotel to the airport to take the flight for onward
destination.
