Day 01 - Arrive Bhubaneshwar
Arrive at Bhubaneshwar & check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel
in Bhubaneshwar.
Day 02 : Bhubaneshwar - Puri
After breakfast, drive to Puri, enroute visit Dhauli, Pipli & Konarak.
Arrive Puri & check-in to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Puri.
Day 03 : Puri
After breakfast, proceed on an excursion to the Jagannath Temple. The rest
of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at hotel in Puri.
Day 04 : Puri - Gopalpur on sea
After breakfast, drive to Gopalpur on sea, enroute visit Chilka lake. Arrive
& check in to your hotel. Overnight stay at hotel in Gopalpur on Sea.
Day 05 : Relax on beach
After breakfast, the entire day is at leisure to explore the sandy beaches.
Overnight stay at Gopalpur on Sea.
Day 06 : Gopalpur - Bhubaneshwar
After breakfast, relax. Later drive to Bhubaneshwar & check in to your
hotel. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Bhubaneshwar.
Day 07 : Bhubaneshwar
After breakfast, proceed on a half-day sightseeing tour of Bhubaneshwar. Overnight
stay at Bhubaneshwar.
Day 08 : Bhubaneshwar - Darjeeling
Today fly Bagdogra. Arrive Bagdogra airport & drive to Darjeeling. Arrive
& check in to your hotel. Evening is free to relax. Overnight at Darjeeling.
Day 09 : Darjeeling
Tea Garden, Darjeeling Early morning, much before dawn, proceed for Tiger
Hill to see the sunrise over the Mount Everest & the Kanchenjunga Ranges.
Later visit Goom monastery, built in the Tibetian style and which enshrines
a 15 ft statue of Maitery Buddha. The Batasia Loop is a scenic spot from where
one can see the toy train winding its way around the hill & return to
the hotel. Later leave for Mirik one of the unspoilt hill stations in the
country. It has a man made Lake as the focal point. Evening return to the
hotel. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 10 : Local Sightseeing
After breakfast depart for a city tour visiting the Observatory Hill offers
a good view of the twin peaks of Kanchanjunga, a temple of Lord Shiva &
a Buddhist shrine are situated here. Chowrasta could be called ‘The
Heart Of Darjeeling’, as it is a place where people meet. Rangeet Valley
ropeway is India’s first ropeway and offers a 30 minutes joyride down
the mountainside by cable car. Visit the Lebong race course- one of the smallest
& highest race course in the world. Afternoon return to the hotel &
relax. Overnight stay at Darjeeling.
Day 11 : Darjeeling - Gangtok
After breakfast, drive to Gangtok (Sikkim) Enroute drive along the Teesta
river, running through green forests. Arrive & check in to your hotel.
Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 12 : Gangtok
Morning proceed for Rumtek Monastery, situated on a hill opposite Gangtok. It
is the largest monastery in Sikkim, traditional in design and is a very close
replica of the original one in Tibet. The first monastery was built in 1717,
but crumbled into ruins.
The new one is a little distance away. Phodong Monastery is one of the six major
monastries and has been rebuilt recently. Then proceed towards the Research
Institute of Tibetology, built in 1958 by the last king of Sikkim. It has a
library with a large collection of old and rare books on Buddhism and a museum
with an even rarer collection of Thankas. (Tibetian paintings) Adjacent to the
institute is the Chorten- one of the most important stupas in Sikkim, whose
golden apex is visible from quite a few points in Gangtok. It has been encircled
by 108 prayer wheels. The Orchid Sanctuary situated just below the institute
has over 200 species of orchids. A brief visit to White Hall, before a visit
to the deer park situated next to the secretariat has deer, red panda and other
small animals. The Enchay monastery is a 200 years old monastery headed by the
great tantrik master, Lama Drubtab Karpa, believed to have had flying powers.
Legend goes, he flew from Tibet to the site of Enchay and built it. Later return
to hotel. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
Day 13 : Gangtok - Kalimpong
Lotus Temple, DelhiAfter breakfast, drive to Kalimpong & check in to your
hotel. Evening is free for personal activities. Overnight stay at Kalimpong.
Day 14 : Local Sightseeing
Morning after breakfast, visit the Raja Dorje Market with their quaint little
shops. In the afternoon depart for a local sightseeing tour, visiting Dr Graham’s
homes. These homes were founded by the Scottish Missionary, Dr John Graham
in 1937. He dedicated his life for the education and care of orphans. These
homes hold old documents & scriptures. Situated at the slopes of the Deolo
hills it is a beautiful self-contained complex. It also provides an excellent
panoramic view of the surrounding area. Later return to the hotel. Overnight
stay at Kalimpong.
Day 15 : Kalimpong
Full day at leisure to laze around, do some shopping, or visit the Kalimpong
Arts and Crafts centre for beautiful Sikkimese or Bhutanese embroidered work.
Overnight stay at Kalimpong.
Day 16 : Bagdogra airport
After breakfast drive to Bagdodra airport for your flight to onwards destination.
