Day 02 : Chennai (Madras) - Excursion to Kanchipuram
and Mahabalipuram
Full day Excursion to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram. Kanchipuram is famed
for it's hand - woven cottons and kanjivaram silk and ancient Temples
-Ekambaresvara Temple, Kailasanatha Temple. Mahabalipuram was the main port
of Pallava dynasty & has exquisite rock-cut monuments, monolithic
structures. Visit Shore Temple, Bhagiratha's Penance, Krishna

Day 03 : Chennai - Pondicherry
Morning after Breakfast drive to Pondicherry, previously a French state
with much of the central town maintaining a French feeling with it's
architecture. Visit the Ashram of Aurobindo and take a boat ride to watch

Day 04 : Pondicherry - Trichy
Morning drive 4hrs to Trichy & transfer to your hotel. Afternoon tour
of Trichy visiting the ancient temples dedicated to Lord Ganapathi - 434
steps cut out into the rock side and interspersed with shrines, lead to the
temple, yet another flight leads to the temple of Lord Shiva. The ascend is
climaxed by magnificent view of the sacred Cauvery river. Visit Srirangam a
massive temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu which contains within its walls a

Day 05 : Trichy - Tanjore - Madurai
Morning

Morning half day sightseeing tour. Visit the great Meenakshi Temple
dedicated to the consort of Lord Shiva with its towering Gopurams (rising
high above the surrounding country side). Later visit the Tirumala Nayak
Palace - a gracious building in the Indo Saracenic style, famous for the

Day 07 : Madurai - Periyar
Morning drive to Periyar National Park and transfer to your hotel. Take an
afternoon boat ride on Lake Periyar to look for animals and a wide range of
bird life.This is one of the most prestigious regions on the high ranges of
the western Ghats. One of the world's most fascinating natural wildlife
sanctuaries, the Periyar reserve is noted for its geomorphology, diverse
wildlife and beautiful landscape. The drive to Thekkady itself is enchanting
as the road winds through Tranquil countryside, rich plantations and thick
jungles. The sanctuary, declared a tiger reserve in 1978 under the project
tiger scheme, attracts travellers from all over the world. This is the only
sanctuary in India where the wild elephant can be observed and autographed

Day 08 : Periyar - Cochin
Morning drive to Kumarakom and boat your private boat to travel through the
backwaters to Alleppey. On the way you will see local people engaged in
their day to day activities surrounded by the lush green coconut
