CELLULAR JAIL, PORT BLAIR :
It took 12 years to build (1896-1908). This oppressive structure and the walls seem to resound with the agony that' hundreds of Indian freedom fighters were put through by the British in 698 cells. This national memorial contains the names of the prisoners, though there are no records of how many died or were executed. A sound and light show here brings alive the saga of the freedom struggle every evening.

MAHATMA GANDHI MARINE NATIONAL PARK :

situated at Wandoor, is 29 km from Port Blair. Spread across 281.5 sq km, it comprises the open sea, creeks and 15 small and large islands. You can see rare corals and underwater marine life through glass bottom boats, also indulge in scuba diving and snorkelling.

ANDAMAN WATER SPORTS COMPLEX, PORT BLAIR :

You can parasail over the waters or ride the waves on a water scooter or speedboat.

FISHERIES MUSEUM, PORT BLAIR :

Three hundred and fifty species of marine life, including live coral, sharks, polyps and starfish can be viewed here. MOUNT HARRIET - 2ND

HIGHEST PEAK:

Andaman It used to be the summer headquarters of the British Chief Commissioner and is idyllic to watch the sun rise or set from the height of 365 km. The Forest Guest House has huts to hire.

CHATHAM SAW MILL, PORT BLAIR:

There is no logging here since a ban in the 70s but wood now comes by ship from Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand to Asia's oldest and largest sawmill at Chatham Island. You can watch the process of the logs being unloaded, sorted, cut, planed and stored.

SAMUDRIKA MUSEUM, PORT BLAIR :

Run by the Indian Navy, this museum gives in-depth info about the history, geography, people, marine life and archaeology of the islands.

ANTHROPOLOGICAL MUSEUM, PORT BLAIR :

Learn all about the indigenous tribes and their lives through the fascinating display of boats, weapons and clothing. Forest Museum, Port Blair You can see varieties of woods here like Padauk, Marble, Peauma, Gurjan and Satin Wood.

MARINA PARK, PORT BLAIR :

This park is more commercial and urban with rides on giant wheels, paratroopers and dragon coasters.

GANDHI PARK, PORT BLAIR :

This used to be Dilthaman tank, which was the only source of drinking water to Port Blair. Today it is a park that offers amusement rides, safe water sports and a nature trail around the lake. There are also historic remains of a Japanese Temple and a bunker.

MINI ZOO, PORT BLAIR :

This zoo houses rare birds and animals found in the islands. It is located at Haddo on the Delanipur-Chatham road.

CHIDIYA TAPU :

is known for its 46 varieties of endemic birds, white spotted deer and seasonal orchids. It was a favourite spot of the great ornithologist, Salim Ali. It has a forest guesthouse and a biological theme park.
